Val   Pelline

430   km.

A Sunday “different” from the usual one: our destination is the Val of Aosta, will make accordingly quite a lot kilometers but not binding, in how much highway will be only and great monotony!

To amuse us however we observe the beautiful panoramas of the valley with her narrowings (as to Bard and Vèrres) or the her wide open spaces (as to Arnad or after Chatillon), or her launchings and imposing castles.

Arrivals to Aosta we take for the Gran St. Bernard, however later around 4 kms. we divert to the right for the Valpelline, taking the regional road for Bionaz, the panorama it is really notable, this valley is few “skiing” and point very on the trekking, and it is comprehensible seeing the imposing one entourage of mountains.

Gone beyond the chief town and his marvelous log cabins we reach Place Moulin where we find an imposing dike of the Enel that forms a vast lake; we park and there we start in shore to the lake up to find a place where to consume the lunch.

After the meal the call is strong and then also us “armed” of shoes we take the path that brings us to the summit of the lake to the shelter of Prarayer, where we take a deserved coffee (they will be two the total hours of march!) and we enjoy there the imposing sight of the perennial glacier of Les Jumeaux that other is not but the basin of Cervinia seen by a side.

In the afternoon reentered to the motorbikes and burnt by the sun we return home, with the only varying that we decide of to cross the government one, thing that he forces us to slowly proceed because of the tortuous road for the various countries that it crosses.
