ISTRIA


Also this year, on the occasion of the bridge of April 25, we have stuck to the initiative of the Motorcycle Federation, put there therefore in trip for Lignano for then to visit the stupendous Istria!

 

 

 

        We skip the hateful 552 kms done for to reach Lignano Sabbia of gold and we speak rather of this weekend:

Aquileia    Lagoon of Grado


132 km.

    After the fatiguing and boring trip of the morning to reach Lignano deserves there some rest!

    We unload the baggages and we rest the back, but peace lasts little: we are suffered recruited for a turn in the lagoon of Degree where we will be able to visit the city of Aquileia

    We return on our footsteps on her fast government for Latisana up to the alternative for Precenicco where we take the SS 14 that it brings us quickly to Cervignano, later to have crossed the center of St. George of Nogaro.

    From Cervignano we take the 352 in direction Aquileia that quickly we reach: the country is small and parish priest and it immediately welcomes us the tall bell tower of the Byzantine cathedral that, after having seen the rests of the Roman road, we prepare there to visit.

    We cross a planted with trees avenue and in front of us it opens the imposing square and the religious center; you park the motorbikes we immediately begin the visit: the mosaics of the floor, the chapels with the graves, the crypts and the stupendous underground walk under the bell tower, everything is worthy of note and I am not able to describe him/it with the due abundance, for this I invite you to visit www.aquileia.it Him only thing that I repeat it is how much the Byzantine mosaics have fascinated me (you see the rooster and the turtle!)

    Left the cathedral visit the baptistery from the typical one cries octagonal and then a deserved rests to the shade of a cafe!

    We leave again then to the time of Grado that we reach after having crossed a road on a characteristic language of earth that it crosses the homonym lagoon; in the city we dedicate us to the visit of her historical center and a walk on the long sea in company of resourceful gulls!

    Finally for supper we reenter to Lignano crossing the road of the going and, tired for the long day, we can gather and to order the group of 109 motorbikes that they have arrived within the whole afternoon.

           

           

           

           

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Istria


276 km.

    Parties of good morning space out there in small groups not to clog the roads, aim for Latisana to take back the highway and from here we take definite for Trieste, with the intention to consume in it scrubs these kms of transfer.

    Reached Duino we leave the highway, not before to have done the full one to avoid the "pendulum" of the prices of the Croatian gas station attendant! and we follow the waterfront up to her splendid Trieste that we quickly surpass because we know how to stop us to the return, we overcome the I bring and her industrial zone up to reach the frontier with her Slovenia, that we cross after a small tail.

    We keep on following the coast and we reach Capodistria; the good time exceptionally there it allows to taste us the warm sun that reflects him in the blue of the sea creating some beautiful tonalities, we have however to leave the coast to reach her frontier of Kastel and arrive in Croazia!

    We now aim definite for Umago to regain her coast, the countries are alternated to beaches and hills creating of the sceneries really worthy of note; we surpass Cittànova and we go down toward the wide mouth of the river Mirna that we cross on a long bridge, which there it allows to see to the horizon the viaduct of the new one speedway that we will cross to the return.

    Gone up again the opposite bank are by now in Parenzo that visit in her characteristic walk and the small harbour! Very beautiful they are the narrow alleys that open in bright plazas, the everything characterized by the omnipresent white stone that he confers to the environment surrounding a particular color; among the alleys we find a small jewel or the cathedral of the city, characterized by an aisle in perfect Byzantine-Venetian style and a small external courtyard that it puts it in communication with the baptistery.

    Left the city we go down toward the channel of Lemme, a real fiord that pushes him in the hinterland for around an about ten of km, a standstill to the landing of the tourist ferry for a drink and a fast visit to the stands and then again in saddle for to reach Rovigno.

    When arrive in the city the tiredness for the long day begins to make himself, but don't release! and you park the motorbikes we begin the scaling that brings us on the promontory of the country where the white has been built (original! ) church; a due break and then down for him tightened alleys up to regain the parking lot.

    Let's be by now to drip him and with a last effort cross the about thirty of km that divide us from Pola and the deserved one I rest in the hotel!

           

           

           

       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Islad  of  Cres


282 km.

    Today we go up again the east slope of the peninsula for to reach Brestova from where we will embark there for the island of Cres; not knowing well the journey we do the full one.

    The road oddly has the decent fund and he unties fast among the countries, we have a good time with the curves and we begin the slope on a long ridge that, crossed, there it densely shows a splendid and ample lowland cultivated; we discover that it is in reality a valley that it climbs again slowly, closing  in one tightened throat that leans out on the belvedere of the channel of Burnt, the second fiord of the Istria!

    I have to say that he has perhaps struck me more of Lemme because be dominated it by the tall one or perhaps because he introduces to the sudden one, but not even the refinery on the fund of the channel ago yes that this place loses its poetry!

    Left the belvedere we go down toward the coast and we reach the wharf that around in a quarter of now there hands on Cres.

    We land to Porozina or two houses and a dock, and we immediately salt in the hinterland of this hold it isolates that for the first kms is not anything else other than a crest of earth with a road in mean! Just before Cres chief town, the island widens granting some space to the cultivations of oil you and grapevines and to lean groups of sheep, heavily checked by vigilant vultures that we discover being one of the attractions of the island!

    We decide to make the 80 kms that divide us from the extreme south promontory, we cross therefore vast lines of "nothing" heat and bushes up to the small country of Osor that with a small bridge, of which we will realize only of it the evening ordering the maps, us ago to cross in the island of Losini (stuff of 10 ms of sea) we also cross her of rush and we reach the center of Bad correct Losini for a beautiful hearty meal of fish!

    In the afternoon any novelty, crosses to bashful the road of the morning and ferried again in Istria we return to ready Pola for the supper!

           

           

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Toward  Trieste


104  km.

Aquileia and Grado The Istria The island of Cres The return to Trieste     Today it is the ugliest day: the week end is ended and we sadly has to return to house, we don't remain but the motorbikes to load and, after having done the full one take it, fast speedway that cuts completely the Istria along the manager north-south and what in about a hour it brings us to the border of Slovenia.

    The only thing worthy of note in this long ribbon of new asphalt, is the viaduct on the river Mirna that we had seen in distance two days  before crossing her: a beautiful bridge that cuts completely the valley.

    Besides around to half crossed we find the tollgate for the toll, the cost it is of 14 kune, rounds up to 2 Euro; to this intention I would like to say that in these days we have never changed currency, but it has been an error in how much true is what practically anywhere, even if not the Euro one was always gladly, approved, but the rate of I change and the roundings were spectacular!

    For the great joy of the merchants that applauded the Italian greatness!

    Reached the border Slovenian we cross some kms on the waterfront up to to reach the place of border of Skofije and from here Italy, we take back the coast road entering Trieste where have attended from a real committee of reception!

    In fact the motoclub Trieste celebrates the 100 years of foundation and for the occasion we provisionally become the masters of Unity plaza of Italy welcomed by the delegates of the federation, the employees of the motoclub and even the gang!

    Hospitality is magnificent, are offered us numerous gadget and a rich I refresh to base of ham in crust and beer! After having made honor to the table we make 4 footsteps to stretch the legs thinking about the 600 kms that wait us and by chance we find it stupendous orthodox church of St. Nicolò, very beautiful the frescos with the bas-reliefs and the sets in gold and silver.

    Thinking a following day, unfortunately working, after the lunch we owe us to greet, we leave the 109 motorbikes and the respective more known crews with the promise to see again all of us to the next occasion, hope soon!

    A warm and due thanks to the Federation and all those people that are hocked for this beautiful turn, everything is spun smooth and I believe that obstacles have not been of it or however of little account kept in mind to have to move such a mass of people for everybody that kms!
